We started Iron & Ivory because the trips we wanted didn't exist.
We grew up between the UAE and South Africa. We played the courses. We know the estates. We had the family dinners on Stellenbosch farms that don't take bookings. And we watched friends in Dubai pay extraordinary money for trips to Scotland or California that came back to them as nice, but ordinary.
South Africa, done properly, is not ordinary. Leopard Creek at sunrise with elephants in the riverbed below the 13th green. A private cellar with the winemaker, no tour group. A long lunch at La Colombe that turns into dinner. Fancourt Links on a still morning before anyone else has teed off.
We don't book tee times. We design a week — the courses you'll play, the estates you'll sleep in, the tables that will be held for you, the cars and the people and the quiet — and then we deliver it. Working with the same network of South African operators, estate owners, and hosts for over a decade, we have direct access to the country's top-ranked courses and the families who own its great wine estates.
